Welcome Back!

On Monday, Aug 3rd the West Pittston Library re-opened to the public with reduced hours and safety precautions in place.

  • Our Current Hours:
    • Mon – Thurs: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
    • Friday & Sat: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • ALL library materials should be returned to the library’s book drop (on the sidewalk at the bottom of the stairs).
  • Masks are required for entrance to the building
  • Porch pickup is still available to those who cannot or do not want to enter the building, or do not have a mask or face covering.
  • Please keep your stay to no longer 45-minutes
  • A maximum of 15 patrons will be allowed inside the library at a time.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Public Computers:

  • Three Computers are available by appointment only.
  • Patrons may have one appointment per day for a maximum of 45 minutes (see below).
  • Computer appointments are set for the top of the hour, and all computers will shut down at 15 minutes before the hour to give staff time to disinfect the area before the next patron’s appointment.
  • To reserve a computer appointment, please call the library at 570-654-9847.

Other Services:
Now that the library is open, services such as faxing and photocopying can resume. We are open for browsing and checking out items only. There are no in-person seating, events, or classes at this time.

These safety precautions are required for us to be able to serve you; thank you for kindly respecting them. We are so happy to see you again!

Currently we are unable to put books on hold for you as it will be some time before the Luzerne County Library System is able to transport books between libraries again.

Books, movies, and other library materials can be returned in our outdoor library book drop.

Please continue to check our Facebook page for updates as we continue to move toward reopening more and more services!
